Furnishings
In fall 2019, the Martha Cook Building received its first complete student room furniture replacement since opening in 1915. This update gave students custom designed items selected with resident input while honoring the unique Martha Cook style.
William W. Cook, our benefactor, was deeply involved in choosing the original furnishings, following a principle of, “buy the best, but without waste or extravagance.” The 2019 enhancement reflects our legacy, blending comfort, elegance, and practicality.
Each room includes (per resident):
- Twin XL bed with headboard and underbed storage drawers
- Dresser with attached mirror
- Desk with a matching chair
- Bookcase
- Floor lamp
- Trash can
- Recycling container
Bathrooms
Much like the rest of campus, Martha Cook offers community bathrooms featuring individual tub, shower, and toilet stalls. In addition to the shared bathrooms, every resident has access to a sink just outside their bedroom in a foyer shared with 1-2 adjacent bedrooms.
